Surrey/ICE Scholarship
The Surrey/ICE Scholarship is a collaboration between the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), the University of Surrey, and leading companies in the civil engineering industry. The scholarship provides a bursary of £1,950 every year combined with salaried training in industry throughout the course of study. Successful applicants are matched with a suitable company mid-way through their first year, where they receive practical training throughout their degree program. Students spend the summer vacation after each academic year doing paid training with their sponsor company. This unique combination of industrial training and academic study is designed to enhance career potential and provide a fast-track route to employment upon graduation and chartered engineer status. The scheme offers students the opportunity to integrate theoretical learning with real-world experience in civil engineering, gaining up to 16 months of industry experience by the time they graduate.
Physics Undergraduate Scholarship
This scholarship is open to UK offer-holders for bachelor degree courses or integrated masters programmes at the University of Surrey. The scholarship is awarded as a £1,000 accommodation fee waiver in the first year of study only, or as a cash award for students living outside of University accommodation. Successful applicants will demonstrate academic excellence and a passion for their subject area. The scheme is application based, and awards are decided by a scholarship awards panel. This opportunity is specifically designed for students entering physics-related programs including Physics BSc/MPhys, Physics with Astronomy, Physics with Nuclear Astrophysics, and Physics with Quantum Computing.
International Excellence Award (postgraduate)
The International Excellence Award is a prestigious scholarship recognising academic excellence for international students starting a masters degree at the University of Surrey. The award provides a £5,000 fee waiver to support self-funded international fee-paying students regardless of nationality or domicile. The scheme is application-based with awards decided by a scholarship awards panel. Applications are reviewed monthly on a first-come, first-served basis. All scholarships must be allocated before a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued, and students are encouraged to apply early. The award is designed to attract high-achieving international students to pursue postgraduate taught programs at Surrey.
Care Leaver and Estranged Student Bursary
The Care Leaver and Estranged Student Bursary is an annual financial support programme offered by the University of Surrey to assist students who have experienced care or are estranged from their families. The bursary provides £3,000 per year plus an additional £500 on graduation to help with moving on costs. This support is designed to help these students meet the costs of university education and transition to life after graduation. The bursary aims to ensure that care leavers and estranged students have the financial support necessary to pursue their undergraduate education. Care leavers are defined as those who have been looked after by a local authority for at least 13 weeks since they were 14 years old and were in care on or after their sixteenth birthday. Estranged students are those who have no communication with their biological or adoptive parents due to various circumstances including inability to trace parents, safety concerns, parental health issues, or parental death. The bursary is not paid in addition to the University of Surrey Bursary.
ICAEW Foundation Bursary
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales Foundation is supporting one postgraduate student for one year studying a degree with Accounting and/or Finance bias at the University of Surrey. The ICAEW Foundation Bursary will be given as a one-off payment of £5,000 for one year of postgraduate study. This bursary is awarded during the February 2026 intake and is designed to support students with diverse financial circumstances who need assistance to fund their studies. Applicants must demonstrate their financial need by providing information about personal income, household income, debts, financial responsibilities, and other factors affecting their ability to fund their studies. Each application is considered individually based on the relative needs of all applicants.
Alumni Fund Post Graduate Sanctuary Scholarship
The Alumni Fund Post Graduate Sanctuary Scholarship is designed for asylum seekers living in the UK who wish to pursue taught postgraduate master's studies at the University of Bath. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support to students who are not eligible for UK postgraduate financial support from Student Finance. The scholarship covers the full cost of tuition fees through a fee waiver and provides a bursary of up to £20,780 to help with course-related and living costs. This scholarship is specifically aimed at individuals with UK asylum seeker status, UK discretionary leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application), or UK limited leave to remain (as a result of an asylum application). The scholarship supports students starting studies in the 2025/26 academic year and is available for full-time or part-time taught postgraduate programs leading to MSc, MA, MBA, or stand-alone MRes degrees. The University of Bath offers one scholarship for the 2025/26 academic year as part of its commitment to supporting sanctuary seekers in accessing higher education opportunities.
Bath Merit Scholarships
The Bath Merit Scholarship is worth £5,000 and is available for overseas fee-paying students permanently domiciled in selected countries who have an outstanding academic record. This award aims to reward students who can demonstrate a background of achievement and success. The awards are available for full-time taught master's courses in the Faculties of Engineering and Design, Humanities and Social Sciences and Science and can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees. Recipients are automatically considered without needing to submit an additional application. Students must hold an offer from the University of Bath for a full-time, campus-based postgraduate taught master's course starting in 2026, be permanently domiciled in one of the listed countries, have overseas fee status, and have a final degree or current grade/GPA equivalent to a UK high 2:2 degree.
Frank Wallace Scholarship
The Frank Wallace Scholarship is named after Professor Frank Wallace, a pioneer in diesel engine turbocharging research, and awarded on behalf of his family. Professor Wallace was a distinguished academic who served as chair of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bath until his retirement in 1989. He was made a fellow both of the Royal Academy of Engineering and the American Society of Automotive Engineers. The award commemorates his commitment to the teaching of engineering and supporting students in the Faculty of Engineering and Design. This scholarship provides £5,000 toward tuition fees for eligible students from the People's Republic of China who have accepted offers to study specific automotive engineering master's programs at the University of Bath. The scholarship is awarded to support the next generation of engineering students following in Professor Wallace's legacy of excellence in mechanical and automotive engineering education.
GREAT Scholarships 2026
The University of Bath is offering four scholarships to international students applying for eligible postgraduate taught courses for September 2026. In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, these scholarships support students from Nigeria, Pakistan, Greece and Spain applying for eligible one-year postgraduate taught courses. The GREAT Scholarships 2026 programme, launched by the British Council together with over 60 UK universities, supports postgraduate students from 18 countries to access world-class UK higher education opportunities. Awards range from £10,000 to £15,000 and are available for full-time, postgraduate taught master's courses across the Faculty of Engineering & Design, Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences, Faculty of Science and School of Management (excluding MBA programmes). The scholarships can only be used as fee waivers towards the cost of tuition fees.
British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM
The British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM aim to support access to postgraduate education for women who can demonstrate their need for financial support and wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM. Access to education is one contributing factor leading to the underrepresentation of women in STEM, and this programme helps address this by providing opportunities for women from Wider Europe countries to continue with their studies and research in STEM subjects. According to UNESCO data, fewer than 30 percent of researchers worldwide are women and only 30 percent of female students select STEM-related fields in higher education. Five fully funded scholarships are available for women from eligible countries studying one-year master's courses in the Faculty of Science or Faculty of Engineering & Design at the University of Bath. The scholarship covers comprehensive costs including tuition fees, monthly living stipend, return travel from home country, visa and insurance costs, IELTS exam fee, and study-related costs. Recipients must return to their country of citizenship for a minimum of two years after the scholarship award ends.
Diamond Scholarship
The Diamond Scholarship is offered by the University of Bath to celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2026. Bath Global Excellence Scholarship

Helen Sharp Undergraduate Scholarship in Modern Languages
The Helen Sharp Undergraduate Scholarship in Modern Languages is a generous scholarship funded by Durham University alumna Helen Sharp (née Potts) to support talented students from low-income backgrounds pursuing undergraduate studies in Modern Languages and Cultures. The scholarship provides financial assistance of up to £4,000 per annum for up to four years to help cover tuition, living costs, and other associated costs of study. This opportunity is specifically designed to promote academic excellence and enhance career prospects for students who demonstrate financial need and have been educated at state-maintained UK schools, colleges, or other secondary education providers throughout their education. The scholarship will be available for students beginning their undergraduate studies in the 2026-27 academic year. Dr John Wreglesworth Scholarship
The Dr John Wreglesworth Scholarship is funded by a generous legacy donation from Dr John Wreglesworth to Durham University. The scholarship is designed to aid students from the north-east of England who are in need of financial support and have been educated at a state-maintained school, college, or other secondary education provider. The scholarship encourages applications from students planning to embark on an Undergraduate History or Joint Honours degree with a minimum 50% History content who meet the eligibility criteria. Students undertaking a foundation year are also encouraged to apply. The scholarship provides £4,000 per year of study to contribute to tuition fees, living costs, and other associated costs of study. Priority is given to applicants who are the first generation of their family to attend higher education, are care-experienced, or are estranged from their family. Three awards are available annually for students commencing their studies in October 2026.
Alumni Fee Scholarship
The Durham University Alumni Fee Scholarship is designed to support Durham University graduates who are considering further study, retraining, and career advancement. This scholarship contributes to the cost of tuition fees for postgraduate degree and PGCE programmes across all faculties of the University. The scholarship provides a 10% discount on tuition fees for all postgraduate taught Masters programmes (MA, MSc, LLM, PGCE, MBA) and postgraduate research programmes (MRes). For alumni commencing new postgraduate research programmes, the 10% fee discount applies for each year of their published programme length. Eligibility is automatic for Durham University alumni who hold a Bachelor's or higher degree from Durham and apply for a course beginning in the 2026-27, 2027-28, or 2028-29 academic year. Applicants must be self-funding or majority self-funding, with their personal contribution exceeding the value of the scholarship. The scholarship is available for both full-time and part-time study modes. No separate application is required - eligible alumni automatically receive the discount. Those holding only CHE/DHE or postgraduate/CPD credits, or those with outstanding financial debt to the University, are not eligible until their debt is cleared.
Khodorkovsky Scholarships
The Khodorkovsky Scholarships are specifically designed to support citizens of Russia wishing to undertake a second degree at Durham University. It is the intention of the scholarship programme that Scholars make a meaningful contribution to the development of Russia and promote east/west understanding. The scholarship covers full payment of annual tuition fees, an annual stipend for living costs (UKRI rates 2025/26 £20,780.00 for postgraduate students), as well as Immigration Health Surcharge and Visa application fees. Eligible candidates must be Russian citizens ordinarily resident in Russia who have undertaken a first degree at a Russian university. Recipients should confirm that they hope to return to Russia for at least one year after completion of their studies when circumstances arise making it appropriate for such return, to make a meaningful contribution to the development of Russia and promote east/west understanding. The scholarships are available for all in-person academic degree programmes at Durham University at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels for students commencing in October 2026.
Global Grand Challenges Studentships (Hunt-Raymond GGC Studentships)
The Global Grand Challenges Studentships are designed to support excellent early career researchers wishing to pursue doctoral research and training in areas aligned to a highlighted Sustainable Development Goal. This specific call is for research and researchers aligned to SDG13: Climate Action for projects that aim to address issues associated with climate change and building a more resilient global future. The studentships provide full tuition fees at both home and overseas rates, a tax-free yearly stipend matched to UKRI rates, and a Research Training Support Grant of £5,000 for the duration of the PhD programme. Five awards are available for October 2026 entry. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary projects and supervision are particularly welcome, especially when these straddle Faculties. The studentships are intended for 3.5 years full-time study.
Durham Palestine Educational Trust Master's Scholarship
The Durham Palestine Educational Trust offers scholarships for Palestinian students from the West Bank or Gaza to pursue a one-year taught Master's degree at Durham University, UK. The scholarship is designed for students who have completed their undergraduate degree at a university in the West Bank or Gaza with strong academic performance (GPA of at least 80% or 3.0 or B). The Trust aims to support talented Palestinian students who are unable to study abroad due to financial constraints. The scholarship covers both tuition fees (provided by Durham University) and maintenance costs (provided by the Trust), including accommodation, living expenses, travel to the UK, visa costs, and other necessary expenses. Recipients are expected to be active in student or community life and must demonstrate English language proficiency acceptable to their chosen course at Durham University. Successful applicants must commit to returning to the West Bank or Gaza at the end of their course and serving as active ambassadors for Palestinians during their stay in Durham. The program also includes enrollment in a free In-sessional Academic and Study Skills course at Durham University. The Trust operates as an independent charity working in partnership with Durham University to support Palestinian education and development. The scholarship is intended for students who have not previously completed a Master's degree and who have not studied abroad except for short courses. Recipients must be able to live in the UK for 12 months as a single person and will be monitored for academic progress throughout their studies.
Commonwealth Shared Scholarships
The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships are available through a partnership between Durham University and the Department for International Development. These scholarships provide a fully-funded opportunity for Commonwealth nationals from developing countries to pursue Taught Masters programmes at Durham University. The scholarships are designed specifically for students who would be unable to afford to study in the UK without this financial support. Each scholarship covers full tuition fees, airfare to and from the UK, a monthly stipend, warm clothing allowance, and other essential expenses for the one-year duration of the programme. The scholarships are aimed at students who have not previously studied or worked for one year or more in a developed country, ensuring that the opportunity reaches those who need it most. Recipients are expected to return to their home country within one month of the award's end date to contribute to the development of their communities.
British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM
Gratefully supported by the British Council, Durham University is delighted to announce five fully funded scholarships for female students from wider Europe interested in pursuing master's studies in STEM subjects at Durham University in 2026/27. The scholarships are specifically designed to support women pursuing master's degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support including full tuition fees, a 12-month stipend, return economy class flight, visa application fees, insurance, NHS surcharge, and other study-related costs. Recipients will be provided accommodation in one of three Durham University Colleges: Hatfield College, Trevelyan College, or Ustinov College. This scholarship aims to promote gender diversity in STEM fields and support talented female students from eligible countries in wider Europe and Central Asia.
Durham Masters Bursary
The Durham Masters Bursary, formerly known as the Postgraduate Student Support Scholarship, supports UK students from low and middle income households who wish to undertake a Master's programme starting in September 2026 at Durham University. The bursary is designed to help students irrespective of financial circumstances and offers support to help the brightest and best students access a world-class education. Applicants must have an offer of a place on a full or part-time eligible postgraduate programme at Durham University and must have been assessed as a home student for tuition fee purposes. Applicants must not already hold a Master's level qualification and must have household income that was assessed during their final year of undergraduate study such that they were awarded a Maintenance Loan greater than the non-income-assessed amount. Applications for the Durham Masters Bursary can be submitted once applicants have applied for a postgraduate programme at Durham University. The bursary aims to broaden horizons for UK students pursuing postgraduate study at one of the UK's leading universities.
Weldon-le-Huray Arts & Humanities Scholarships
The Weldon-le-Huray Arts & Humanities Scholarships provide support for applicants who are able to demonstrate exceptional potential in the academic field of Arts and Humanities. This scholarship programme provides opportunities for UK home students from lower-income households to pursue academic excellence and career enhancing opportunities within the departments belonging to Durham's prestigious Faculty of Arts and Humanities. Three scholarships are available for applicants planning to commence their undergraduate studies at Durham University, each worth £4,000 per academic year. The scholarships are designed to help support tuition fees, living costs, all other costs of study and career/leadership development opportunities. These scholarships are kindly supported by Guy and Sarah Weldon and are awarded on the basis of academic potential, the personal statement, and reference provided, along with household income assessment.
Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Sport, Music and the Arts
Durham University offers Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships for Sport, Music and the Arts to support students who excel in these fields. The scholarship provides £2,000 per academic year to undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional talent in sport, music, or the arts, such as participation in sporting or musical events at a national or international level. The scholarship is designed to support Durham's commitment to combining academic excellence with opportunities for personal development through extra-curricular activities. Durham has been a top 3 BUCS table University since 2012, invested £47 million in sporting facilities, offers over 30 University music societies, and produces around 90 theatre productions each year. Applications are particularly welcome from International candidates, Ethnic Minority groups, and candidates from neighbourhoods with low overall progression to higher education or high levels of socio-economic deprivation. Successful applicants will be required to play an active part in Durham University's sporting, musical and performing communities throughout their studies.
Khodorkovsky Scholarships
The Khodorkovsky Scholarships are specifically designed to support citizens of Russia who wish to undertake a second undergraduate or postgraduate academic programme of study at Durham University. It is the intention of the scholarship programme that Scholars make a meaningful contribution to the development of Russia and promote east/west understanding. The scholarships provide comprehensive support including full payment of annual tuition fees, an annual stipend for living costs (£20,780.00 for postgraduate students at 2025/26 UKRI rates, with undergraduate stipend to be confirmed), Immigration Health Surcharge and Visa application fees. Recipients should confirm that they hope to return to Russia for at least one year after completion of their studies, when circumstances arise making it appropriate for such return, to contribute to the development of Russia and promote east/west understanding. All eligible candidates will be considered for the scholarship, which covers the full duration of the academic programme.
Fiona Hill Scholarships
The Fiona Hill Scholarships have been specifically designed to support applicants from the North East of England with preference given to applicants from Bishop Auckland. The scholarship provides £5,000 per academic year to undergraduate students at Durham University. The award is available for a maximum of 4 years which can include a foundation year, an integrated Masters programme, or a 3 year undergraduate programme followed directly by a 1 year Masters programme. Applicants must have a household income below £42,875 as determined by Student Finance England and be resident in one of the following North East postal regions: DH, DL, NE, SR or TS. Three awards are available for students commencing their studies in 2026.
Global Sports Award: International Scholarships
Durham University is offering a number of Global Sports Awards for European and International fee-paying undergraduate students entering in 2026/27. These awards support tuition fee costs for candidates who demonstrate the ability to compete in high performance sport. The scholarship provides up to £5,000 per year, subject to sport performance level, and is designed to attract talented athletes to participate in University or College sport at Durham. Preference is given to applicants from USA, Canada, and South Africa, though candidates from other countries can also be considered. Up to 20 awards are available for full-time on-campus undergraduate programmes, excluding foundation programmes and all Law programmes. Recipients must be completely self-funding and classified as European or International for fee purposes, and must agree to actively participate in University or College sport at Durham University while also engaging in marketing and communications activities for the institution.
Glaister Northern Scholarships
The Glaister Northern Scholarships are specifically designed to support low household income applicants from the North East and Cumbria who wish to study an undergraduate degree at Durham University. Two scholarships are available annually providing £4,000 per academic year. The award is divided into £2,500 for tuition and residential costs, and £1,500 for internships, international experience, or wider student experience activities. The scholarship is renewable for the duration of the undergraduate programme at Durham University, up to a maximum of 4 years funding. Applicants must have a household income below £42,875 as determined by Student Finance and be permanently resident in specific postcode regions (CA, DH, DL, LA, NE, SR, TS), with preference given to applicants in CA and LA postcode regions. The scholarship is available for all undergraduate programmes, including Foundation Years if applicable.
Durham University Military Scholarship
The Durham University Military Scholarship is designed to support individuals who have been injured, wounded, or sick as a direct result of military service or an immediate member of their family. The scholarship aims to make a real difference to the lives of Military Scholars by providing a life-changing opportunity for committed students who have made the personal choice to return to education following a period of military service. Scholars can be either an individual who has been honourably discharged from the British Armed Forces or their direct family member. Preference is given to applicants who have been injured, wounded or are sick as a direct result of military service or their direct family member. Full-time scholars receive £5,000 per year for a maximum of four years, which can be used as either maintenance support or payment towards tuition fees. Part-time students receive funding on a pro-rata basis. Three scholarships are available: one for applicants studying any undergraduate programme at Durham University, and two for applicants studying undergraduate STEM subjects with preference given to those studying Engineering. The scholarship programme was initiated in 2011 by alumnus Patrick Walker, who created the first two scholarships in honour of Lieutenant Abraham Slowe and Brigadier Harry Walker. Thanks to support from numerous trusts, foundations, and individual donors, Durham University can award scholarships of up to £20,000 per scholar. Military Scholars become members of St. Cuthbert's Society, one of the University's oldest student communities with extensive military heritage. Selection is based on personal statements, references, and academic status. All eligible applications are considered, and other scholarship awards may be taken into account when considering allocation. The University may also use Acorn data to identify applicants from areas currently underrepresented in the undergraduate population.

Durham Inspired Computer Science Scholarship

World-Leading Scholarship in Computer Science and Modern Languages
The University of St Andrews offers a full scholarship funded by St Leonard's Postgraduate College to support an exceptional student undertaking doctoral research on 'Designing Techno-Cultural Ecologies: Prototyping Critical and Creative Interactions with Biodiversity.' This interdisciplinary PhD project investigates how digital technologies can be reconfigured to explore new frameworks for engaging with biodiversity, integrating environmental humanities, design research, and digital fabrication to prototype new forms of technological engagement. The research centres on the herbarium at the St Andrews Botanic Garden, aiming to reactivate it as a 'techno-cultural ecology' where biological archives, digital systems, and human perception intersect to produce new forms of understanding. The scholarship provides full tuition fee coverage and an annual stipend (£19,775 for 2025-2026) for up to 3.5 years full-time or 7 years part-time. Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre (SAIC) MSc Scholarship
The SAIC scholarship enables students to study sustainable development while gaining exposure to the aquaculture sector, innovation challenges, and how SAIC is driving solutions. Recipients have the opportunity to develop their dissertation or end of year project on a topic relevant to the aquaculture sector. Students pursuing practical topics will have the opportunity to gain insight from individuals who work in the sector and are part of SAIC's 300+ consortium member organizations. The scholarship is specifically designed for Scottish residents pursuing the MSc in Sustainable Development at the University of St Andrews. The program provides a unique opportunity to work on projects developed in partnership with industry members from the Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre consortium. The Semester 2 part-time fees scholarship is available to cover the tuition fees for your first semester of part-time study if you start in January at the University of St Andrews. This scholarship is designed for students whose personal earned or pension income is under £25,000 and who are taking 20 credits (one module) in their first semester. Students would otherwise be eligible for the SAAS part-time fee grant, but they won't qualify for SAAS funding in their first semester because SAAS requires a minimum of 30 credits per academic year between September and May. This is a means-tested scholarship to provide financial support for students beginning part-time undergraduate study in the second semester.
