The Watkins Bursary

The Watkins Bursary aims to enable UK domiciled students from low-income backgrounds to pursue an undergraduate degree at UCL. UPC Progression Scholarship

The UPC Progression Scholarship is awarded to students with the strongest academic performance on each UPC pathway at University College London. The Physics & Astronomy Opportunity Scholarship

The Physics & Astronomy Opportunity Scholarship is a long-term initiative aimed at attracting students from a broader range of backgrounds to tackle the lack of Black representation in Physics & Astronomy at UCL. All Opportunity scholars will also receive ongoing academic and career support during their study. The Department of Physics and Astronomy is committed to improving the representation and progression of Black, Asian and minority ethnic students, with this scholarship serving as an additional tool in their outreach programme. Candidates must be UK domiciled with home fee status or be a forced migrant as defined by UCL, have not completed a degree previously, hold an offer of admission to study on one of Physics & Astronomy's undergraduate degree programmes, identify as Black or Black British, and come from a lower socio-economic background based on household income. A maximum of two scholarships are available to students starting in September 2026.

Social Macroeconomics PhD Scheme and Scholarship

The UCL Institute for Global Prosperity's PhD scheme in Social Macroeconomics aims to advance research on new approaches to the economy and the development of a new economic paradigm. This scheme is part of the Institute's Global Prosperity MPhil/PhD programme and offers students the opportunity to work on various key themes linked to a new hub on Social Macroeconomics. Luciano Zucchi Bursary

The Luciano Zucchi Bursary is a £6,250 award established in memory of Luciano Zucchi (1931-2022), a renowned industrial designer specializing in light. The bursary supports students pursuing postgraduate studies in Light and Lighting at UCL's Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment. The scholarship encourages students to think about lighting, natural and artificial, in the broadest way possible with sensitivity to creative choreography of light, texture, and shadow. This scholarship exists to provide support that did not exist in his day and to encourage recipients to think holistically about lighting design, from product design to integration within buildings.

UCL Humanitarian Scholarship

UCL Humanitarian Scholarships enable students at serious risk and/or displaced due to armed conflict to pursue full-time Masters degree studies at UCL. The scholarship is specifically designed for candidates who are at serious risk as a direct result of armed conflict, and/or have been displaced inside or have been forced to leave their home country within the last three years because of armed conflict and have sought international protection outside of the UK. The scholarship covers full tuition fees and a maintenance payment to cover accommodation and living costs (approximately £20,000) for the normal course duration, with UCL guaranteeing a single room in UCL accommodation if chosen. Additional allowances cover the Immigration Health Surcharge, visa fees and one return flight. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of financial need and upon the recommendation of the UCL Humanitarian Scholarship panel. Up to 3 scholarships are available for the 2026/27 academic year.
