About this opportunity
The Alexander Crawford Scholarship was founded by Alexander Crawford of Miramar, who in 1935 bequeathed to Victoria University of Wellington the sum of $6,000 for the establishment of scholarships. The scholarship is available each year to students who are enrolled in the final year of a first Bachelor's degree at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and are pursuing a full-time programme of study. At least one of the scholarships is available to a suitable student enrolled in a BSc, and the other to a student either enrolled in a BA, LLB or BCom. Applicants must have been bona fide residents in the Wellington city for a period of at least three years prior to the granting of the scholarship, and must also be experiencing financial hardship. The scholarship is tenable for one year and may not be held together with the Emily Lilias Johnston Scholarship. Successful recipients are expected to act as Ambassadors for Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington and participate in appropriate events or marketing if requested.
