The Richard Tagart Scholarship
The Richard Tagart Scholarship provides selected undergraduate students with £5,000 per annum, paid in three termly instalments. This award can be renewed for the duration of the recipients' studies (usually 3 or 4 years) subject to satisfactory academic progress. The late Richard Tagart very kindly made arrangements during his lifetime to provide a legacy to the University of Kent in order to support undergraduate students in need throughout their studies. The New York Pass

Stuart Hall Foundation – CHASE AHRC studentships for BAME researchers in the Arts and Humanities
The Stuart Hall Foundation Scholarships are awarded through the CHASE (Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England) AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership. These studentships are specifically available to Home candidates from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, with a particular focus on encouraging applicants interested in the work and legacy of Stuart Hall. Staff Fee Remission
The Staff Fee Remission program provides tuition fee support for employees of the University of Kent who wish to pursue part-time study at the institution. The University will cover half the cost of home tuition fees for eligible staff members who are accepted and register as part-time students. To qualify, staff must remain employed by the University of Kent and meet specific employment criteria: their appointment must be at least half-time and for at least one year, or they must have worked for the University for an average of at least 300 hours per year in the current year and two previous years, or have undertaken part-time teaching for an average of at least three hours per week in the current year and two previous years. School of Computing PhD (GTA) Studentships

Medway Student Support Fund
The Medway Student Support Fund provides bursaries to home students studying at the Universities at Medway, including the University of Kent. This fund has been established through a significant donation and provides financial support to eligible students experiencing financial hardship. Selected recipients will receive a bursary of between £500 and £1,500 to help support their studies. The fund is available to undergraduate students registered at the Medway Campus who are UK residents paying home fees and can demonstrate a household income of £42,460 or less. Martin Cook Scholarship for Humanities Students
A generous donation has been received by the University of Kent in memory of Martin Cook. The purpose of the gift is to help support one full-time undergraduate student in the humanities. The selected scholar will receive £3,000 per annum for the duration of their studies, (normally 3 or 4 years) subject to satisfactory academic progress. The scholarship is open to all full-time applicants who are UK residents paying Home tuition fees. Applicants must have accepted a place on a humanities undergraduate course at the University of Kent starting in September. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and satisfy a range of socio-economic criteria. The successful applicant will be chosen on the basis of demonstration of financial hardship, strength of their 500 word statement, A level results or equivalent, and UCAS personal statement and reference. Recipients are expected to act as an 'ambassador' for the University, their subject and faculty and attend University events when requested, if not in conflict with either course attendance or classes being in session.

MA Peace and Conflict Studies (International Joint Award) – EU Student Discount
This scholarship is offered to EU students applying for the Postgraduate MA in Peace and Conflict Studies (International Joint Award), as part of a collaboration between the University of Kent and the Philipps-Universität Marburg. The scholarship provides a £3,400 tuition fee discount for the 2025/26 academic year at Kent, reducing the international rate of £12,400 to a total of £9,000 for EU students. Eligible students must be EU nationals and hold an offer of a place for the program at the University of Kent for the 2025/26 academic year. Students that meet the criteria will be automatically eligible for this scholarship discount with no separate application process required.
Knowledge Orders before Modernity - a Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarship Programme (MASTER'S PLUS)
The Leverhulme Doctoral Scholarships Programme 'Knowledge Orders before Modernity' (KOM) is an innovative collaboration between King's College London and the Centre for Medieval and Early Modern Studies (MEMS) at the University of Kent. The programme explores the capacity of the handwritten word comparatively, after as well as before the advent of the printing press, outside as well as within western cultures. It seeks to challenge a conventional periodization which associates complex knowledge, complex archival mechanisms, and mundane recording with the development of western print culture. The programme funds up to three MA candidates who will progress to a doctorate connected with the programme. Doctoral candidates will participate in a shared programme of visits, events, and discussions. Doctoral scholars will be registered at the University of their first supervisor, either at King's College London or the University of Kent. The scholarship covers full tuition fees, provides a stipend at UKRI base level (£20,780 in 2025/26), and up to £10,000 for research and training needs during the PhD. The programme has four themes: Technologies of knowledge (materiality, writing systems, layout, accounts, numerals, diagrams, ciphers); Embodied knowledge (scribal careers, training, personal mobility, professionalization, language, gatekeepers); Systems of knowledge (archiving processes, witness, memory, reading practices, recall, authenticity, compilation); and Chronologies of knowledge (innovation, continuity, engagement with the past, responses to the present, reuse, forgery).

Kent UKAT Ambition Scholarship
The Kent UKAT Ambition Scholarship extends support to students who completed their studies at one of the University of Kent's sponsored academies: Brompton Academy or Chatham Grammar. The scholarship is worth £2,000 for each year of study (pro-rata for part-time students) and will be renewed on an annual basis, subject to satisfactory progress. If a student is required to repeat a year, the scholarship will be paused until they continue to the next stage of study. Kent UKAT Ambition Scholarship holders will be invited to join the Kent Ambition Scholars Programme. As part of this programme, students will receive targeted support throughout their student journey and encouraged to develop their employability skills by being invited to apply to different opportunities within the University, such as becoming a Student Ambassador. The scholarship is aimed at students from backgrounds of socio-economic deprivation and underrepresented groups, with priority given to those living in areas of deprivation, low-participation neighbourhoods, care leavers, estranged students, Gypsy/Roma/Traveller communities, first-generation university students, students with caring responsibilities, those in supported accommodation, or those who received free school meals.
Kent LLM Solicitors' Practice Scholarship (Canterbury), September 2026 entry
The Kent LLM Solicitors' Practice Scholarship provides financial support to students pursuing a taught LLM in Solicitors' Practice at the Canterbury Campus of the University of Kent. The scholarship offers a £2,000 tuition fee discount to both home and overseas students. For overseas applicants, there is an additional requirement that they must be from a country receiving ODA funding from the OECD and be fully self-funded. All applicants must have achieved a 2:1 or equivalent in their law degree from an institution other than the University of Kent. Applicants must also submit a 500-word personal statement demonstrating their commitment to pursuing a career as a solicitor. Four scholarships are available in total for September 2026 entry.
Kent International Scholarship - September 2026
The University of Kent is pleased to offer automatic scholarships of £5,000 to applicants who accept their offer to study at the University and who are domiciled in Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. This scholarship is specifically for students beginning postgraduate taught, full-time programmes in September 2026. The scholarship will be applied directly to tuition fees. Eligible students are those assessed as self-funded overseas fee payers who are paying fees directly to the University of Kent. No application process is required; all eligible applicants who have accepted their offer by the stated deadlines will be contacted with a scholarship offer which they will need to accept. Kent Business School applicants are not eligible for this scholarship and should refer to the Kent International Scholarship (KBS) instead. The award is also open to international students who are normally domiciled in an eligible country but who are currently resident in the UK for purposes of study.
Kent International Scholarship (KBS)- September 2026
The University of Kent offers automatic scholarships of £3,000 to Kent Business School applicants who accept their offer to study at the University of Kent, and who are domiciled in Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam. This scholarship is designed to support international students pursuing postgraduate taught programmes at Kent Business School. The scholarship will be applied directly to tuition fees. Applicants must be assessed as self-funded overseas fee payers who are paying fees directly to University of Kent. This award is for students beginning their degrees in September 2026 only and is not stackable with other awards unless the applicant is coming through a progression agreement.
Kent County Agricultural Society Scholarship Scheme
The Kent County Agricultural Society Scholarship Scheme provides financial support to Kent-based students pursuing degree courses in agriculture, horticulture, forestry, equine, veterinary and animal management. The Society organizes the annual Kent County Show and supports a range of education initiatives used to promote the land-based sector. As part of their wider charitable objectives, they have introduced this scholarship scheme for Kent-based students studying for a degree in the UK. The Kent County Agricultural Society set up the scholarship scheme to help fund three students through their degree courses each year, providing £1,000 annually for up to three years. The Society looks forward to working with these individuals in developing a pro-active group of youth ambassadors over the next few years.
Kent Business School Dean's Excellence Scholarship Award
The Kent Business School Dean's Excellence Scholarship Award is offered by the University of Kent to support outstanding students pursuing MSc courses at Kent Business School. These Excellence Scholarships are open to all UK and International applicants across all Kent Business School taught MSc courses and are awarded based on outstanding academic merit. Successful awardees automatically become members of the prestigious KBS Scholarship group and are encouraged to undertake activities to support and promote their studies whilst a student and subsequently as alumni of Kent Business School. Awards are considered on a rolling basis by the Scholarship Awarding Panel every month, with successful candidates notified within one week of the panel meeting.
Kent Business School Beaconhouse PG Progression Scholarship
The Kent Business School Beaconhouse PG Progression Scholarship is a tuition fee discount scholarship of £6,000 intended to support the progression of students who obtain Kent's BA (Hons) Business award through Beaconhouse International College, Pakistan into postgraduate study at the University of Kent in Canterbury. This scholarship is available for one year of full-time, registered study on a postgraduate taught course. There are 25 scholarships available for students commencing a postgraduate taught course at Kent in September 2026. The first 25 applicants who meet the criteria will be awarded. Applicants must receive and accept an offer by 31 July 2026 to be considered, and must pay their tuition fee deposit by 31 August 2026 to secure the scholarship. This award cannot be held in conjunction with other awards and scholarships. Eligible applicants are automatically considered without a separate application process.
Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship
The Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship extends support to students who participated in the University of Kent Succeed Programme. This scholarship is automatically awarded to eligible students who have completed the programme no more than two academic years prior to entry to Kent. Scholarship holders can expect to receive between £500-£2,000 for each year of study (pro-rata for part-time students), subject to satisfactory academic progress, for a maximum of 4 years full-time (or part-time equivalent). The amount awarded is dependent upon household income and the number of awards available in the year of entry. Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship holders will be invited to join the Kent Ambition Scholars Programme, where they receive targeted support throughout their student journey and are encouraged to develop employability skills by being invited to apply to different opportunities within the University, such as becoming a Student Ambassador.
Kent Access to HE Ambition Scholarship
The Kent Access to HE Ambition Scholarship extends support to students who undertook an Access to Higher Education Diploma at the University of Kent or at one of the University's Partner Colleges (Mid Kent College, West Kent College, EKC Group, Canterbury College, or Ashford College). The scholarship is worth £2,000 for each year of study (pro-rata for part-time students) and will be renewed annually, subject to satisfactory academic progress, for a maximum of 4 years full-time or part-time equivalent. Ten scholarships are available annually. Scholarship holders are invited to join the Kent Ambition Scholars Programme, which provides targeted support throughout the student journey and opportunities to develop employability skills, including the chance to become a Student Ambassador. Applications are prioritized for students from areas of socio-economic deprivation, low-participation neighbourhoods, care leavers under 25, estranged students, members of the Gypsy/Roma/Traveller communities, first-generation university students, those with caring responsibilities, or residents of foyer or supported accommodation. Applicants must be UK home fee-paying students who have completed or are completing an Access to HE Diploma at one of the specified institutions, with this being their most recent qualification. They must have applied to the University of Kent for a full-time or part-time undergraduate programme and firmly accepted an offer by the application deadline. KMMS students are not eligible, and recipients cannot hold both this scholarship and the Kent Ambition to Succeed Scholarship simultaneously.
