University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship

The University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship was established in 1996 and revised in 2023 to encourage and support excellent domestic and international doctoral candidates who wish to conduct research which aligns with the strategic objectives of the University of Auckland. The scholarship is awarded to high-achieving doctoral candidates applying for admission to an approved doctoral programme at the University of Auckland. Applicants who are applying to enrol in their first doctorate will be assessed for scholarship eligibility and award at the time of application to the doctoral programme. No separate application is required as the scholarship is awarded automatically based on the recommendation of the relevant faculty or University committee. The scholarship provides financial assistance with doctoral study for a tenure period of up to 42 months full-time equivalent.

The Anne Reid Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002 to commemorate Anne Reid of Blenheim/Christchurch/Singapore/Auckland, who studied and taught at the University of Canterbury and the National University of Singapore. The University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship was established in 2016. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to attract new international students of high calibre to enrol in undergraduate or postgraduate study of one year or more at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. The Hauora Māori Development in Pharmacy Practice Prize is awarded to the Bachelor of Pharmacy student whose Part III collected portfolio demonstrated the best development in Hauora Māori understandings and culturally competent practices. The Prize was established in 2018 and is funded by Ngā Kaitiaki o Te Puna Rongoā o Aotearoa/The Māori Pharmacists' Association (MPA). The MPA is a national Māori health organisation with the aim and overarching vision to lead Māori responsiveness in the pharmacy sector in the development and delivery of services aimed to increase medicines optimisation in Māori whānau.
