W. Givens-Smith SEDCO Scholarship

The W. Givens-Smith SEDCO Scholarship was established at the University of Regina in 1982 by the SEDCO Board of Directors, in honour of William Givens-Smith, who served as a fifteen-year board member for the Saskatchewan Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO). The scholarship is presented annually to Master's students entering any Master's program in Administration, including Master of Business Administration, Master of Public Administration, or Master of Human Resource Management. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence and community volunteer accomplishments. There are three awards for full-time students and two awards for part-time students, awarded to students who are Saskatchewan residents with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80%. Applicants must be in their first, second, or third semester of their Master's program and must demonstrate community volunteer accomplishments through a written application.

URGSA Travel Awards

The URGSA Travel Awards are designed to assist Master's and Ph.D. students with costs associated with travel for presentations of paper, posters, or other creative work pertinent to their studies. Approved events include conferences, major festivals, case competitions or other artistic events sponsored by recognized national or international organizations. This is a post-travel award, meaning students apply after attending the event. The program offers two competition periods annually: Fall Semester Competition and Winter Semester Competition. Each competition offers 8 awards at $750 for domestic or international travel, and 3 awards at $1250 for domestic or international travel with a preference for international travel. Students must have been enrolled and registered in a graduate program at the University of Regina in good standing during the semester that the travel took place. To be eligible, students must have presented a paper, poster, or other creative work at a conference or event relevant to their program, or participated in a case competition. The application requires proof of acceptance, a one-page abstract of the work presented, detailed expense documentation with receipts, and a statement demonstrating financial need. Academic Unit support is also required through a brief email from the Graduate Coordinator or Supervisor. Students may receive this funding once at the Master's level or twice at the Ph.D. level. Preference is given to those demonstrating financial need. The award helps cover expenses such as economy airfare, mileage, hotel accommodations, and food costs associated with conference or event attendance.

University of Regina Varsity Sport Award

The University of Regina Varsity Sport Award was established in 2021 to provide financial assistance to University of Regina student athletes. This award is designed to support graduate students who are active members of U SPORTS teams at the University of Regina. The award covers variable amounts up to a maximum of tuition, course and semester based fees, and is awarded on a term by term basis. Recipients must meet U SPORTS eligibility and funding requirements for entering, continuing, or post-secondary transfer students. No application is required as nominations are made by the Director of Sport, Community Engagement & Athlete Development in consultation with coaching staff.

University of Regina Alumni Association Dr. David Barnard Graduate Scholarship in Fine Arts

This scholarship is awarded annually in Fall to a graduate student entering a Master's, Doctoral or Special Case Doctoral program in Fine Arts at the University of Regina. The scholarship recognizes academic excellence and is designated for students pursuing Interdisciplinary Studies Fine Arts within the Faculty of Media, Arts and Performance. Recipients must demonstrate strong academic achievement with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80% and be enrolled as full-time students. If no entering graduate student meets the eligibility criteria, the scholarship may be awarded to a continuing graduate student who satisfies all other requirements. This is a nomination-based award that does not require a separate application from students.

University of Regina Alumni Association Donald O. Wells & Deborah Wells International Study Award

This award was established in 1998 by the University of Regina Alumni Association to honour Dr. and Mrs. Wells. It is a tribute to their many accomplishments and contributions to the University of Regina during Dr. Wells' tenure as President of the University of Regina (1990-1997). The intention of this award is to provide an opportunity for University of Regina students to experience and to gain an understanding of their culture through international study. The award supports fully-qualified graduate students in good standing who are approved for a formalized Graduate International Study Tour such as the GRST 900AA-ZZ. Students must have successfully completed a minimum of nine credit hours prior to departure and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 75% with no failed courses in their graduate program.

The Faculty of Social Work - Dr. Judy White Equity and Inclusion Award

The Faculty of Social Work - Dr. Judy White Equity and Inclusion Award will be given annually to a student who has either overcome significant adversity, demonstrated community leadership, returned to school as a mature student and/or belongs to a vulnerable or marginalized community. This award recognizes demonstrated financial need, courage, resilience, and participation in extracurricular activities such as volunteer work or involvement in the community. Grades or academic achievement is not a consideration, rather this award honours the virtues which Professor Judy White epitomizes in her practice, scholarship and community work. Dr. Judy White's research on the settlement experiences of immigrants draws on her own immigrant journey to Canada from Trinidad in 1987. Dr. White practiced, taught and served as Dean in the Faculty of Social Work, and served as a board member with numerous community agencies, professional associations and Institutes. The award will be presented to a University of Regina graduate student in odd years.

Soroptimist Foundation of Canada (SFC) Grant

The Soroptimist Foundation of Canada (SFC) annually offers four grants of $8,500 each to female graduate students in Canada to assist them with university studies that will qualify them for careers that will improve the quality of women's lives. Examples include but are not limited to: providing medical services, providing legal counselling and assistance, counselling mature women entering or re-entering the labour market, counselling women in crisis, counselling and training women for nontraditional employment, and positions in women's centres. Applicants must be female (or identify as female), Canadian citizens or permanent residents, and accepted registrants in a full-time graduate studies program (Masters or PhD) or professional program at a similar level (medicine, law) in an accredited Canadian university. Recipients must be committed to working in Canada for at least two years after graduation and must be contributing to their community through volunteer service. The application requires a completed application form, proof of citizenship or permanent resident status, proof of university registration, three letters of reference, a completed financial statement, and a personal statement. Applications must be submitted between November 1st and January 31st annually. An applicant may apply more than once but will not be eligible to receive a second grant.

SGI Graduate Student Traffic Safety Research Scholarship

The SGI Graduate Student Traffic Safety Research Scholarship assists graduate students whose proposed thesis-based research involves engineering or human factor issues related to traffic safety. The scholarship supports the development of ideas and research that may be applied to the solution of problems in traffic safety in Saskatchewan, while developing expertise and interest in graduate students in the area of road safety. The award is valued at $6,150 with one scholarship available per competition. Students must be registered full-time at the University of Regina with a minimum cumulative GPA of 80% and demonstrate satisfactory progress in their graduate program. Applications are invited from students in engineering, geography, psychology, and social science areas, but are not restricted to these fields.

SaskTel Scholarship

Every year, SaskTel awards seven scholarships of $3,000 to students attending post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan who are studying in a field directly related to information and communications technology. The scholarship supports full-time students enrolled in degree, diploma, or certificate programs directly related to telecommunications, including Computer Science, Engineering (electrical, electronic, or telecommunications), Accounting, and Business Administration. Applicants must be Saskatchewan residents with a minimum 75 percent grade average in their most recent educational standing and must be enrolled or plan to enroll for a minimum of 8 months at a post-secondary educational institution in Saskatchewan. SaskTel specifically encourages Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, visible minorities, and women interested in non-traditional careers to apply.

Saskatchewan Reading Council Award

The Saskatchewan Reading Council Award was established through a donation made by the Saskatchewan Reading Council to assist students who are pursuing a Master's or Doctoral degree in the Faculty of Education at the University of Regina. The award is presented to a graduate student enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in the Faculty of Education who has completed a course in the reading subject area in the previous academic year. Preference is given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents. This is a nominated award with no application required, as the Faculty of Education will recommend a recipient to the Manager of Graduate Scholarships and Awards.

S. V. Hillis Memorial Scholarship

The S. V. Hillis Memorial Scholarship was established by Bryan Hillis, Professor and former Dean of Luther College, and James Hillis, Men's Basketball head coach, to recognize and reward athletic achievement with the Men's Basketball athletic program, providing post-secondary education financial assistance to an entering or continuing University of Regina Canadian Interuniversity Sport Men's Basketball student athlete. The scholarship is available to both undergraduate and graduate student-athletes who participate in the University of Regina Men's Basketball program. For graduate students, entering candidates must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 70% from their previous undergraduate academic year, while continuing graduate students must be in good standing with satisfactory achievement in coursework and appropriate progress toward completion of research requirements. Recipients must be fully qualified students as per the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research standards.

Robertson Fellowships

The Robertson Fellowships were created through a generous donation from Dr. Bev Robertson to the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy. The scholarship is designed to support graduate student research in the areas of science in public policy. These fellowships provide significant financial support to graduate students enrolled in either the Master of Public Policy (MPP) or PhD program at the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Regina. Master's students receive $20,000 for one year with the option to renew up to one time, while PhD students receive $35,000 per year for one year with the option to renew up to two times. Recipients must maintain a minimum first class average (80%) and be enrolled full-time during the tenure of the award. As part of the fellowship requirements, students must volunteer ten hours per week at the JSGS Centre for Science and Public Policy during the tenure of the award. This provides valuable hands-on experience in applying scientific research to public policy questions. The fellowship is awarded through nomination by the Johnson-Shoyama School of Public Policy rather than through direct application.

Robert Patrick (Bob) Ryan Memorial Award

The Robert Patrick (Bob) Ryan Memorial Award was established in 2021 to assist students who are active members of the University of Regina Rams football team and pursuing a degree in any faculty at the University. During a career at Ranch Ehrlo Society that spanned more than 35 years, Bob Ryan was integral to the growth and success of that organization and made a huge positive impact on the lives of thousands of young people. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in psychology from the University of Regina, Mr. Ryan also mentored many of his professional colleagues and for a number of years taught police recruits at the Saskatchewan Police College. An avid sports fan and coach, and above all a devoted husband and father, Mr. Ryan proudly supported two of his children, sons Jon and Steve, as members of the University of Regina Rams. Sadly, Mr. Ryan passed away on December 1, 2006 after a fight with cancer. This award has been established to honour Bob Ryan. The awards are funded from contributions made by the Bob Ryan Foundation established by the Ryan family in memory of Bob and by the Gear Up with Jon Ryan Foundation. The award will be awarded to a University of Regina graduate student who is pursuing a degree in any faculty, is a member of the University of Regina Rams football team, and must appear on the team eligibility roster in the academic year in which the award is presented.

R.A. Kelln – J. Neuhard Graduate Entrance Scholarship in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology

The R.A. Kelln – J. Neuhard Graduate Entrance Scholarship in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology was established by Dr. Rod Kelln, Professor of Chemistry/Biochemistry, and Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research to assist graduate students entering a graduate program in Biochemistry or Molecular Biology at the University of Regina. The scholarship commemorates the research collaboration between Dr. Rod Kelln and Dr. Jan Neuhard that has been ongoing since 1982, funded through several jointly held NATO International Collaborative Scientific Research Grants and individual grants from NSERC and Danish Science Foundation. Dr. J. Neuhard is a leading expert in pyrimidine metabolism in bacterial cells and recognized worldwide for his pioneering work in biochemistry and genetics, having retired in 2004 from the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. The scholarship will be presented annually in the fall to a University of Regina graduate student entering or in the first semester of study of a graduate program in Biochemistry or in a Molecular Biology research theme in the Department of Biology. Recipients must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80% or equivalent and be registered as full-time students in the fall semester when the award is presented. Only one award is presented on a yearly basis, with no award available for the winter semester if it is presented in the fall.

Nature Regina Graduate Student Grant

Nature Regina awards an annual Graduate Student Grant of $1500 to support a University of Regina graduate student conducting research that contributes to the conservation of the natural world and biological diversity. Usually only one grant is awarded each year. Projects that further the understanding of ecological relationships in the natural environment in southern Saskatchewan are preferred candidates for the grant. Submissions should indicate the ecological need and the urgency of the project, and demonstrate an appropriate use of funds. Successful applicants are expected to make an oral presentation at one of the Society's monthly meetings (September – May) upon completion or near-completion of the research project.

Mr. Roland O. Dunlop and Mrs. Annie Dunlop Memorial Graduate Scholarship in Visual Arts

The Mr. Roland O. Dunlop and Mrs. Annie Dunlop Memorial Graduate Scholarship in Visual Arts is established to support students pursuing graduate studies in a Visual Arts program at the University of Regina. The scholarship will be awarded to a University of Regina graduate student entering a graduate program in Visual Arts at the University of Regina who has submitted the most outstanding portfolio for admittance into the program and is registered as a full-time student in the Fall semester the award is presented. This is a nomination-based award where no application is required from students. The Department of Visual Arts recommends the recipient to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research no later than March 31 each year the award is presented.

Mike Lazecki Memorial Award

The Mike Lazecki Memorial Award was established to assist students who are active members of the University of Regina Rams football team pursuing a degree in any Faculty. This scholarship was established to honour Mike Lazecki. Funding is the result of donations made in Mike Lazecki's memory, in support of University of Regina Rams' scholarships, including participation in golf tournaments held in Mike's honour. The award is presented to a University of Regina undergraduate or graduate student who is enrolled in any degree program, is a member of the University of Regina Rams football team, and appears on the team eligibility roster in the academic year in which the award is presented.

Margaret Messer Graduate Scholarship in Arts Education

Established from funds donated through a bequest from Margaret J. Messer, the scholarship provides a graduate student in the Faculty of Education - Educational Curriculum and Instruction program (EC&I) the opportunity to further their studies in the field of Arts Education. This scholarship supports Master's or Doctoral students at the University of Regina pursuing research and studies related to Arts Education. The award recognizes academic excellence with a minimum cumulative grade point average requirement of 80% and demonstrated outstanding performance in field experience. Preference is given to full-time students registered in the semester the award is presented, and recipients are selected through nomination by the Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Programs, Faculty of Education in conjunction with the Arts Education program area.

MacKinnon Scholarship

The MacKinnon Scholarship is an internal graduate scholarship awarded annually at the University of Regina based on academic performance. This scholarship supports graduate students pursuing research in Educational Curriculum and Instruction. The award is presented in the spring on an annual basis to candidates who meet specific eligibility criteria. Recipients must be enrolled as fully-qualified students in a Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction or Doctoral program in Education with research focused on Educational Curriculum and Instruction. LWV Graduate Scholarship

The LWV Graduate Scholarship was established through a transfer of funds from the L.W. Vigrass Prize in Geology to assist students who are pursuing a graduate degree in the Faculty of Science, majoring in Petroleum Geology. Two scholarships are available, each valued at $1,675, to support both full-time and part-time graduate students at the University of Regina. The scholarship is awarded to Canadian citizens or permanent residents enrolled in the Faculty of Science pursuing the field of Petroleum Geology who have achieved a minimum of 70% cumulative GPA. The award may be given to either thesis-based or course-based students and can only be received once throughout a student's academic career. Applications are accepted with deadlines on September 29 and February 28 each year.

Levene Indigenous Pathways Graduate School of Business Award

The Levene Indigenous Pathways Graduate School of Business Award was established to assist Indigenous students who have registered for a degree or certificate program at the Levene Graduate School of Business. The award provides up to six awards of up to $20,000 per student awarded annually and disbursed in $5,000 increments to the student over up to four semesters, within two years of starting their program. This is a nomination-based award where students are nominated by the Faculty of Business Administration in the Fall semester. The award is specifically designed to support Indigenous students (First Nations, Inuit, Métis) pursuing graduate business education at the University of Regina.

Levene Graduate School of Business MBA Advantage Entrance Award

The Levene Graduate School of Business MBA Advantage Entrance Award was established to create an accelerated route for Hill School of Business alumni who have registered for a Levene MBA degree at the Levene Graduate School of Business. The award supports domestic students who have completed a BBA or B.Admin degree from the Paul J. Hill School of Business or the First Nations University of Canada with a GPA of 75% or greater and have completed the HBS Online CORe Certificate. Up to five awards annually of up to $2,500 per student are available to eligible students accepted to the Levene MBA program. Recipients must be registered and remain registered in a minimum of three credit hours in the semester the award is presented. This award is valid for up to three semesters following notification of the award.

La Cité Graduate Student Scholarship

This scholarship provides recognition and funding support to bachelor's degree graduates of Canadian universities who are entering a graduate program in French offered at the University of Regina. The award is designed to support graduate students pursuing their studies in French, promoting francophone education and research at the graduate level. Joseph W. Schwann Graduate Award

The Joseph W. Schwann Graduate Award is provided to a University of Regina graduate student who has a demonstrated interest in, and is focusing on individual physical activity and health. The award is available to students entering their first year (1st, 2nd or 3rd semester only) who are registered as full-time students in a graduate program leading to a Master of Science in Kinesiology and Health Studies degree, or a Doctor of Philosophy in Kinesiology and Health Studies. Recipients must demonstrate both a research interest in physical activity and health as well as financial need. The award provides $1,650 in support to one student annually, with a deadline of September 29.

History Graduate Prize

The History Graduate Prize was established to recognize academic excellence by graduate students registered in the Master of Arts in History program at the University of Regina. The prize will be awarded to a University of Regina graduate student registered in the Master of Arts in History program who is a fully-qualified student in good standing, registered either full-time or part-time, and has a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 80%. Preference will be given to full-time students. No application is required as the Department of History Scholarship Committee will select the recipient(s) and notify the Manager of Graduate Scholarships and Awards at the start of the semester.

Jerry Orban Offensive Line Award

The Jerry Orban Offensive Line Award was established through a donation made by the University of Regina Rams Football Club to assist students who are active members of the University of Regina Rams Football team, in a position on the offensive line, pursuing a degree in any Faculty. This award provides financial support to undergraduate or graduate students who are members of the Regina Rams football team and play on the offensive line. The award is presented to students who meet the eligibility criteria under CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) rules as verified by the Registrar's Office. Recipients must appear on the team eligibility roster in the academic year in which the award is presented.

IPAC Award

The IPAC Award is given to the student who receives the highest standing in JSGS 801 at the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Regina. This is an internal, nominated award that recognizes academic excellence in a specific graduate course. The award is valued at $250 and is open to full-time graduate students enrolled in JSGS 801. No application is necessary as students are automatically considered based on their academic performance in the course.

IODE War Memorial Doctoral Scholarship

The IODE War Memorial Doctoral Scholarship was established to honour the memory of the men and women who gave their lives for Canada in World Wars I and II. The scholarship provides awards for doctoral study in Canada or other Commonwealth countries. Three scholarships of $15,000 each are available annually for students enrolled in doctoral programs. Candidates must be Canadian citizens, hold a Master's degree, hold a first degree from a Canadian university, and be enrolled in at least the second year of a doctoral program at the time of application. The scholarship supports full-time doctoral studies across all areas of study without restriction to specific fields or disciplines.

International Student Athletic Award

The International Student Athletic Award has been established to recruit and retain international student-athletes to the University of Regina. This award provides remission of the international student surcharge for eligible student-athletes competing in basketball, football, hockey, soccer, swimming, track and field, volleyball, and wrestling. The award is available to both undergraduate and graduate students who are members of the University of Regina Cougars or RAMS athletic teams and meet specific eligibility criteria. Recipients must be international students attending on a Study Permit, maintain full-time enrollment status, be in good academic standing, and appear on the CIS team eligibility roster. No application is required as students are nominated for this award.

International Doctoral Student Award (IDSA)

The International Doctoral Student Award (IDSA) is designed to encourage the recruitment and retention of outstanding international students into PhD programs across all Faculties at the University of Regina. Internationalization encourages, supports and promotes the integration of diverse worldviews into discovery through research and teaching. This award provides financial support to eligible international doctoral students who are fully-qualified and registered full-time in their programs. The award is automatically awarded to eligible students and does not require a separate application. Students receive $1,450 per semester directly to their University of Regina student account for a maximum of 12 terms (four years of their PhD program). Recipients must maintain a minimum 80% average, complete the Grad Thrive Plus GRST 801 course by the end of their first semester, and hold a valid study or work permit. The award is discontinued if students transition to permanent residency status.

Howard Brachman Memorial Scholarship

The Howard Brachman Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a University of Regina graduate student enrolled in the Master of Education program in Educational Psychology (formerly known as School Guidance and Counselling). The scholarship recognizes students who have achieved academic excellence with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 75% and are registered in at least 3 credit hours in the semester the scholarship is presented. Preference is given to Regina Public School Board employees taking EPSY 823 (Cognitive Assessment 1), making this scholarship particularly valuable for working education professionals pursuing advanced studies in educational psychology. The scholarship provides $1,000 in support to help graduate students continue their studies in educational psychology and counselling at the University of Regina.

History Graduate Award

The History Graduate Award was established to provide funding support for, and to recognize prior academic excellence by, graduate students enrolled in the Master of Arts in History program at the University of Regina. Multiple awards are available up to a maximum of $5,000 per recipient, subject to available funding, paid out in four equal payments in the first semester of study. The award recognizes students who have demonstrated strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 75% in their previous two years of study and maintain good standing in the semester the award is presented. Preference is given to full-time students, though both full-time and part-time students are eligible.

The Hesterman Track & Field Award

The Hesterman Track & Field Award was established at the University of Regina through generous donations by the Hesterman Family. This award will assist students on the University of Regina Cougars Track & Field Team. The award is presented to undergraduate or graduate University of Regina student-athletes who are members of the Cougars Track & Field Team and appear on the Canadian Interuniversity Sport team eligibility certificate in the CIS academic year. Recipients must meet current CIS eligibility and funding requirements. Graduate student recipients must be in good standing and continuing graduate students must demonstrate satisfactory achievement in course work as well as appropriate progress towards the completion of their research requirement.

Geography and Environmental Studies Scholarship for Excellence Award

The Geography and Environmental Studies Scholarship for Excellence Award was established by the Department of Geography at the University of Regina to reward, recognize and encourage outstanding students with a specialization in Geography or Environmental Studies. This internal scholarship is awarded to graduate students who have demonstrated academic excellence through their Graduate Grade Point Average. The scholarship supports students enrolled in thesis or project-based graduate programs in Geography who have completed at least 12 credit hours and remain actively registered in their graduate studies. Recipients are nominated by the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies Scholarship Committee, ensuring that the award goes to students who have shown exceptional performance in their graduate work.

Gender Based Violence Bursary

The Gender Based Violence Bursary was established by donors to support students in need who have accessed the University of Regina Women's Centre and/or the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office. This bursary offers financial support to undergraduate and graduate students facing hardships as a result of experiencing gender violence that could affect their academic success. The bursary provides critical financial assistance to help students continue their education despite the challenges they face from gender-based violence. One bursary is awarded in the Spring semester and one in the Fall semester, with each award valued at $1,000. Recipients must be registered in at least 3 credit hours in the term the bursary is awarded and must demonstrate need for support services, including financial assistance, as a consequence of violence and/or gender violence.

Garry H. Beatty Scholarship

The Garry H. Beatty Scholarship Fund was established through a donation provided by friends and colleagues in memory of Garry H. Beatty to assist students who are pursuing a Masters degree program in Public Administration at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Regina, or the University of Saskatchewan. The scholarship will be presented to a graduate student enrolled in a Masters degree program in Public Administration at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy who is registered in a minimum of six credit hours in the semester the scholarship is presented, maintains a minimum cumulative grade point average of 80%, and is a Canadian Citizen. French Studies Graduate Entrance Award

The French Studies Graduate Entrance Award was established to provide funding support for, and to recognize prior academic excellence by, graduate students entering into the Master of Arts in French and Francophone Intercultural Studies program at the University of Regina. FGSR Parental Leave Bursary

This award is designed to support graduate students who have taken an approved parental leave (includes adoption). The goal of the bursary is to help students maintain a level of funding during their parental leave (to a max of 8 months). This bursary is provided on a first come first serve basis and there is a limit of 3 awards per fiscal year. Students must be on an approved parental Leave of Absence (LOA), have pre-existing stable graduate funding at a minimum of $7500 per year, cannot hold Tri-Council Funding, must have completed at least one semester of their graduate studies and be registered full time in the semester before their approved leave, and must be in good-standing. Students who have received an approved parental LOA can send a request for this bursary to grad.funding@uregina.ca with their name, student ID, expected leave start date, and proof of current funding. A student cannot be employed while holding this bursary.

The FGSR Opportunity Award is designed to support undergraduate students from the University of Regina as they transition into their Masters program at the same institution. The FGSR Graduate Student Online Conference or Travel Award is intended to provide financial assistance to fully-qualified graduate students to attend conferences or events to present papers, posters or other creative work, related to their research. Effective March 2023, this is a pre-conference/travel award requiring students to apply before they attend or travel. The award supports graduate students at both Master's and Ph.D. levels who are presenting at academic conferences or events relevant to their research program. Students may receive this funding once at the Master's level or up to twice at the Ph.D. level. Students presenting at online conferences may be considered for refund of their online conference registration fees if they meet the full eligibility criteria. There are approximately 30 awards available for each competition cycle, with awards up to $1,000 each, depending on budgetary approval and at the discretion of FGSR.

The FGSR Graduate Scholarship Base Fund (GSBF) provides financial support to graduate students enrolled in Master's or Doctoral degree programs at the University of Regina. The Guaranteed Minimum Funding Award provides accepted PhD students at the University of Regina with a minimum of $15,500 per year in funding for up to four years. This funding is divided between two sources: FGSR provides $8,000 and the Supervisor/Unit/Faculty provides $7,500. The FGSR portion is provided in three payments based on semesters and is not attached to any required work. The portion from Supervisor/Unit/Faculty may come in various forms including Teaching Assistantships, Stipends, or Research Assistantships. Students must maintain a minimum 80% average and be registered full-time in at least 6 credit hours each semester. The award is automatically provided to all accepted PhD students without requiring a separate application. Students who receive tri-council funding of $40,000 or more are ineligible for this program during their major award period. Clinical Psychology PhD students are eligible for only 3 years (9 semesters) of funding per their program requirements.

The Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research provides general enhancements to recipients for national awards with a minimum value of $20,000 per year. This is a supplementary award program that provides additional funding to graduate students who have already received major national awards. The enhancement is available only for awards valued between $20,000 and $40,000 per year. The Dr. Naiyer Habib and Mrs. Mahlaqa Naushaba Habib: Pioneers of Community, Cardiology, and Health Scholarship was established in 2024 to create an endowed graduate scholarship in the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research at the University of Regina. Dr. Naiyer Habib headed cardiology over two decades in Regina, Saskatchewan, and is recognized as a pioneer of Cardiology services in Regina. The scholarship supports graduate students in their first year of studies in the MA/MSC in Aging Studies program who demonstrate evidence of academic excellence. Recipients must be registered and remain registered in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the term the award is presented. As an additional benefit, the scholarship recipient will receive a copy of the book History of the Muslims of Regina, Saskatchewan, and Their Organizations authored by Naiyer Habib and Mahlaqa Naushaba Habib.

The Department of English Graduate Scholarship was established in April 2024 to support incoming English graduate students with entrance scholarships to encourage promising applicants to enroll in one of the Department of English MA programs at the University of Regina. CSA Group Graduate Scholarship

The CSA Group Graduate Scholarship supports graduate students in the pursuit of novel research related to standards. Graduate students at the Master's level studying at or accepted to a publicly-funded, accredited Canadian university are eligible to apply. The research can be conducted in any field (e.g. engineering, social sciences, health sciences) and must include standards as a significant component of the research. The research may investigate aspects of an existing standard or may explore an area for future standards development. The CPCoE has created Capacity Building Initiatives (CBIs) to support research in fields related to Veterans' chronic pain. In partnership with the University of Regina, the China Scholarship Council (CSC) offers scholarships to outstanding Chinese students who will pursue doctoral studies at the U of R. The Canada Graduate Scholarships – Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements (CGS-MSFSS) Program supports high calibre Canadian graduate students in building global linkages and international networks through the pursuit of exceptional research experiences at research institutions abroad. This foreign study supplements program is available to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who hold a Joseph-Armand Bombardier, an Alexander Graham Bell or a Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS) at the master's or doctoral level, or a Vanier CGS at the doctoral level. By accessing international scientific research and training, CGS-MSFSS recipients will contribute to strengthening the potential for collaboration between Canadian universities and affiliated research institutions and universities, or other research institutions outside of Canada. The supplement provides $6,000 to support graduate students undertaking research experiences at institutions abroad during their graduate studies.

This award is made annually to graduate students in clinical psychology who have demonstrated excellence during a four-month clinical internship. The scholarship recognizes University of Regina graduate students enrolled in the Clinical Psychology program who are scheduled to begin a four-month internship and have the highest program grade point average in clinical courses. Academic All-Canadian Graduate Scholarship

The Academic All-Canadian Graduate Scholarship was established in 2005 to reward academic achievement of recognized University of Regina Canadian Interuniversity Sport Academic All-Canadian student-athletes. The scholarship is awarded to a graduate student-athlete enrolled in or newly accepted into a master's or doctoral program at the University of Regina who has been designated as a CIS Academic All-Canadian. The eligible sport areas are basketball, football, hockey, soccer, swimming, track and field, volleyball and wrestling.
